CEO Bruce Gingrich established the first Lifechek Drug pharmacy in 1990 and now owns and operates 30 stores, making Lifechek the largest independently owned pharmacy chain in the nation. Outside of his business activities, Bruce Gingrich lends support to a number of charities, including Fort Bend Cares.
For more than a decade, Fort Bend Cares has served the needs of underprivileged youth in Fort Bend County, Texas. In April 2015, the organization held its second annual Doggone Fun Run/Walk. The 5K run and walk drew more than 150 human participants, as well as 70 canines, and was documented by local television in Stafford, Texas.
Event sponsors included Sunoco Logistics and Center Point Energy. Kelly Chilcutt finished the 5K run first overall in just 22 minutes. Proceeds of the Doggone Fun Run/Walk have been directed to the organization’s many youth-oriented programs, including $160,110 in grants to more than 22 local nonprofit organizations that serve 20,000 children in need every year.
